What I think.
Petal is not a bad, terrible, or disposable album, and I honestly think a lot of people misunderstood what Ariana was trying to do here. It feels like Ariana trying to free herself from something that maybe even she does not fully understand anymore. The songs may not have her biggest vocals or deepest lyrics, but they are still filled with something that matters more: real emotion. It is imperfect, confused, and vulnerable, but I think that is exactly the point.
