What I think.
Sweetener is one of Ariana's most interesting albums because it feels much more willing to take risks than her earlier work. The production and overall direction give the album a very distinct personality, even if some of those choices work better than others. It can be a little inconsistent at times, but the stronger moments are good enough to make the experimentation feel worth it. I also think the album gets better with repeat listens, since a lot of its appeal comes from how different it feels.
